Rolf Brem

Rolf Brem (Born 1926) is active/lives in Switzerland.  Rolf Brem is known for Portrait head and animal sculpture.

Rolf Brem was born in Lucerne in 1926.  Between 1945 and 1948 he studied sculpture at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Lucerne.  He then studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris and traveled to Rome.  He also worked in the studio of the sculptor Karl Geiser in Zurich. 

Many of his works Brem has created for the public space.  His sculptures of humans and animals can be found in many cities throughout Switzerland.  In 1992, 136 of Brem's portrait heads, curated by Harald Szeemann, were shown at the World Exhibition in Seville.  Brem now lives and works in Meggen on Lake Lucerne.
